Description

Corgi Toys Gift Set 12 Grand Prix Racing Set empty Reproduction Box and Tray. This the first version of this set with the early issue Lotus Climax and Cooper Maserati models.

The outer box features a window front displaying the cars inside the foam tray. The upper left has the Porsche Carrera 6 featured in white and red highlight panels and a second one behind it in blue (a rare version of the model was made with blue highlight panels).  The inner tray has 6 cutouts for the models and accessories to sit in.

Our reproduction polystyrene foam inner is cut specifically to match the models which include:

• Corgi Toys 490 Volkswagen VW Racing Car Tow Truck with tools and winch (Tan or Mustard Yellow colour body)
• Corgi Toys 330 Porsche Carrera 6
• Corgi Toys 159 Cooper Maserati (early blue issue)
• Corgi Toys 155 Lotus Climax (early green issue)
• Corgi Toys Racing Car Trailer (Red) (no separate model number - early issue metal towing loop)
• Accessories - witches hats / cones and hay bales.

There are also 3 race track people that should be included but are not mentioned on the box.

There are three variations of this box that are all available from RecoverToy. This is the earliest of the 3 issed between 1968 and 1971.

This is a complete set of two pieces, outer box with window face and inner foam tray. Both are available seperately.
