Description

Corgi Toys Gift Set 12a Grand Prix Racing Set empty Reproduction Box.

This the first version of this set with the early issue Lotus Climax and Cooper Maserati models.

The outer box features a window front displaying the cars inside the foam tray (not included). The upper left has the Porsche Carrera 6 featured in white and red highlight panels and a second one behind it in blue (a rare version of the model was made with blue highlight panels). 

The models in this set would include:

• Corgi Toys 490 Volkswagen VW Racing Car Tow Truck with tools and winch (Tan or Mustard Yellow colour body)
• Corgi Toys 330 Porsche Carrera 6
• Corgi Toys 159 Cooper Maserati (early blue issue)
• Corgi Toys 155 Lotus Climax (early green issue)
• Corgi Toys Racing Car Trailer (Red) (no separate model number - early issue metal towing loop)
• Accessories - witches hats / cones and hay bales.

There are also 3 race track people that should be included but are not mentioned on the box.

There are three variations of this box that are all available from RecoverToy. This is the earliest of the 3 issued between 1968 and 1971.

This is the outer box with window face only. The inner foam tray is available seperately.
