Question

Answer

What does it cost to post the items?

Parcels vary in cost for both post within and outside of Australia. I have now set up two classes of parcels. The cheapest option relates to printed matter - repro boxes and decals - which I will send at letter rates. Everything else is a parcel as parts, models, etc. are all breakable and valuable.

Within Australia all parcels are sent as Registered Post. It costs a bit more than normal post but it is the cheapest method for RecoverToy to provide tracking and insurance.

Outside Australia postage charges vary from country to country. Australia Post maintains a full list of postage and options. Check the Australia Post Web Site for details.

All overseas parcels will have a tracking number and, providing it is available to your country, insurance may also be included. Uninsured articles means that I cannot accept responsibility for damage in transit.

Postage costs will vary from time to time and are shown at the checkout process.

What happens if my items are damaged during shipping?

You will need to claim from the Post Office for the damage. If you are in Australia your parcel will be insured. If you are outside Australia, your parcel may or may not be insured depending on if insurance is available to your country.

If the package is visibly damaged you should inspect the package at the Post Office before accepting delivery. I would recommend that a crushed box is not accepted for delivery unless you open it in the Post Office and check that the items are not damaged.

RecoverToy does not accept responsibility for lost/stolen/damaged shipments. We post/pack all items for prompt delivery with Australia Post and are not in control of the parcel once it is lodged with the Post Office.

How much is postage within Australia?

Post and packing is based on Australia Post shipping rates and costs associated ensuring that products arrive safely.

I use Australia Post standard post packs, box or padded bag, depending on the article being sent.

All parcels are sent Registered Mail with insurance.

Larger items are subject to cubic rate calculations and will vary. Australia Post explains the concept of cubic rate on their website and some of the items that we ship (i.e. Corgi Trucks) while low in weight are bulky and they attract a higher rate of postage because of this. Please refer to Australia Post web site for more details.

Post/Pack fee will appear with each auction item or at the store checkout based on the above.

Note that I do round up the cost of the postage plus a small fee for packing materials, like bubble wrap and tape which I use on every parcel.

Combined shipping for eBay items is available at the standard post/insurance rate for the first item and $1 per additional auction item.

How much is insurance ?

With all parcels I automatically include tracking and if possible insurance for the first $100 value.

For orders over $100 the additional insurance is Free!

DO NOT ASK for uninsured shipments, I've had too many 'lost' parcels.

Overseas tracking/insurance is mandatory and will be included.

The tracking fee for overseas shipments as per Australia Post is $5.50 per article. Insurance for orders over $50 value is Free!
