RecoverToy FAQs (frequently-asked questions)
Question
Answer
Because I am not doing this to lose money. I am out of pocket around $1,000 due to claims for items 'lost in transit' over the past 6 - 12 months.
Some customers (a polite term) request "no insurance" and then claim via Paypal or on their credit card for non-delivery. Even if I accept that the item never arrived, it is not my fault that it did not, and that is the idea behind having insurance.
When a claim is made Paypal automatically refund. It is a certainty and there is no method for me as the seller to object. They simply ignore the seller. I no longer have the item to sell, I cannot get back any eBay fees which have been paid, I have paid the postage, and I don't have the cash from the buyer as Paypal deduct it out of my account.
What's worse is when I then get told that the goods arrived but the buyer doesn't want to be honest enough to pay me. One even left me positive ebay feedback ! Damn, so he should, but I'd prefer the money.
As a result, as of 1st November 2006 I am positively anal in my attitude to terms and conditions. You read them, you understand them, and we do a deal. You don't read, you don't care, we don't deal. I don't have the time or the money to waste. Fortunately, most of my customers do not fall into the above group but I have to have a standard set of rules, hence the lengthy FAQ's and Terms & Conditions.
Back to topFor each item you can expect to get what was described in the auction advert. Grading of play worn collectable toys is a subjective excercise but I try to grade fairly and having been a collector for over 20 years I think I know the difference between mint and trashy. With spare parts the item will fit the models as described.
If the item you receive is not as described just return it in saleable condition and a refund or exchange can be made.
Items broken in transit must be claimed for credit from the postal service.
